Do I need an appointment?

Yes, we do advise you to make an appointment to try on our bridal gowns. We want your experience with us to be exactly how you would want it to be. We generally allow 90 minutes for your first appointment. This will allow you plenty of time to look thoroughly through all of our collections and try on as many as you need to find the perfect gown for you.

How many people should be I bring with me?

Wedding gown shopping is a personal and intimate experience that should be done with your close family and/or friends. Sometimes if brides bring too many people along to their appointment there can be a conflict of opinion which can cloud the bride's judgment on which gown is perfect for her. We feel the bride and normally another 2 or 3 opinions would make a successful appointment.

Can I take photographs?

YES! Here at Take a Vow we think it is vitally important to have those memories and the photos will also help you make the best decision on which gown to choose.

Once I have chosen my wedding dress what happens next?

We require a 50% deposit in order to order your gown. This can be paid over as many weeks as you require, however we will not order the dress until we have received the full 50% deposit. You can then spread the remaining balance across as many weeks as you require as long as the gown has been paid for in full when it arrives 12-16 weeks after ordering. We will contact you to inform you when your dress has arrived.

I am planning on losing weight. Should I order the gown in a size smaller?

We will, with your approval order the gown size in which you would think will be the best fit when you come for your fitting appointment. However, if the gown cannot be fitted to you the way you wish with our seamstress, we unfortunately cannot accept exchanges or refunds for this. Our advice is to order the gown that you are comfortable in when you choose your perfect gown and, in most cases, our excellent seamstress Julie can take the dress in by up to 2 dress sizes and it can be let out by 1 dress size.
